All aboard magical journey. Affirmation of the Red Caboose's charm. The attention to detail provides a unique yet luxurious ambiance. One can unwind in the hot tub and enjoy local wine - pure romantic getaway. Morning coffee amidst the tranquility of working farms and a mountainous backdrop is purely serene. Evenings are spent watching the sunsets by a cozy fire. Though nearby roads are audible, the place still ensures enough privacy and safety. A truly enchanting experience overall and amazing storyline behind the build.

Swak baie swak. Die plek ruik na riool binne-in. Was die laaste twee aande van ons vakansie en wat 'n teleurstelling. Ons het regtig baie uitgesien om daar te bly, maar alles was verkeerd vanaf ons daar arriveer het. Geen water in die hottub nie, en die bier wat ons bestel het, was warm. Die volgende oggend kon ons nie bad nie, want die geiser was af. Maar die ergste van alles is die rioolreuk van die toilet wat die hele plek vol hang. Dit is regtig baie onaangenaam. Dan is die plek ook omtrent 50 m van die hoofpad af.

I had forewarned the guests that the pool and hot tub were empty as the borehole pump had tripped at 11:30 am. When they checked in at 4 pm, the electricians were already busy with the repairs and by 4:30 the pool and hot tub were filling up. I was told this is unacceptable. Sometimes things go wrong and living in the countryside things can't get done straight away. The fact that it was sorted by 4:30 was great. My husband even went back and lit the hot tub; and brought the guest a large cold beer. The beer from the picnic was not cold and I apologised for that a few times and did not charge for the beers. The caboose is near the road, yes, but it doesn't bother guests. It's not a busy road. It's a security plus in my point of view - less likely for someone to come looking for trouble if visible from the road. It is definitely still private at the accommodation. The geyser had tripped from a quick power outage. The water heats up in 10 minutes so once turned back on it would have been a short wait. Again, I apologised. The sewage smell - I've never had anyone complain before but it did smell when I went in to clean after the guests checked out, so maybe they did not flush it properly (it has a foot flush) as now there is no smell at all again. And there have been more guests staying there since. It is not mentioned that a free night's accommodation was offered, the complimentary bottle of wine was cold on arrival, and the hot tub was lit for them.

What a surprisingly unique experience. We felt welcome from the minute we arrived. Steph and Dustin did an amazing job restoring the old 1941 caboose. After all the rain and floods in the area, we also had the chance to do some 4x4 driving on the roads to get there Again, what an amazing experience. Nothing was lacking and it was wonderful to be in nature, even if it was only for a few days.

Lovely unique stay in McGregor in the Red Caboose train carriage. We loved our stay at the Red Caboose. Everything was beautifully made up, and we were all so impressed with the conversion of the train carriage. It's perfect for young families.

Stil, rustig en absoluut pragtig. Die Red Caboose is 'n uitstekende bestemming en verseker 'n moet besoek! Baie netjies en mooi versier en toegerus met alles wat jy dalk sal nodig hê. 'n Mens kan net al die moeite en aandag wat aan die ou wa gegee is, waardeer.
