Peaceful, quiet and tranquil. This is the perfect place for a weekend getaway to escape the city life. Less than an hour's drive from the CBD, it's like time has stood still. Kom has some of the most welcoming, friendly people you'd ever encounter, and Susan is cut from that same cloth. The Retreat certainly lives up to its name as the clean air, calm surroundings, and plants allow you to unwind and feel thoroughly rejuvenated. Parked the car then just walked everywhere, with the beach a block down the road and restaurants, coffee shops, etc. a block up the road, it really is perfectly situated. Thank you again, Susan. It was our pleasure to spend time at The Retreat.

Was fantasties. Die beligting was uitstekend, by die see en ander besienswaardighede. Die gasvrou was baie vriendelik en behulpsaam. Daar was voorsiening gemaak vir loadshedding.

So comfortable and cool. Was such a great location in close proximity to the beach and restaurants. The host was such a delight and we would definitely recommend to anyone as we loved our time in Kom!

Nice place for a short stay. Nice bohemian accommodation, very good location in walking distance to restaurants and Long Beach. Clean and safe. Very friendly host who even brought us fresh fruit and freshly baked croissants in the mornings. The host's cat visited us regularly. Unfortunately, the WiFi was very poor, but the host recommended several cafes with better WiFi where we went to get some work done.

See above. The host was amazing, always checked up on us. The place itself was not the best, especially for R2200. There were spiders, and no curtain on a window. The bathroom had a sheet with pegs.

Dit was 'n pragtige plekkie en dit het hul eie ingang gehad. Die huisie het alles ingehad wat nodig was. Dit is loopafstand van die strand.

Dit was koud en die verblyf kry nie regtig son nie. Dit was 'n enkelmotorhuis wat omskep is in verblyf. Hulle kon gerus meer aandag aan vensters gegee het.

Dear Elna, The location is considered by many people to be the best location in Kommetjie - if you prefer beachfront, expect to pay R5000/night - I can give you a list of places. I have invested in the best Trellidor for the unit, and we have a powerful block watch and ADT patrolling 24/7. Kommetjie is a very safe village and our guests have never had any problems with security. I wish you well to find any accommodation in the Western Cape that offers 1000 thread count percale bedlinen, pure down pillows, original art, handmade artisanal soaps, 100% electricity from solar energy, Wifi, Netflix, a small private garden with braai, private entrance, 1 block from beach and 1 block from village centre, for R450/person/night - R900 for the unit. You made it very clear that you would not communicate in English and as a professional businesswoman, I spoke to you in my best Afrikaans as much as possible. May I add that in the Cape, on the coast, it gets very cold and windy and it even rains sometimes - I did offer you a heater which you declined. Kind regards, Susan
