Dear Paula
I am quite surprised at your comments. The House @ Village Studio has a lovely feel and is homely but you only rate us 3 out of 5. To answer your concerns:
Shower head - we never had complaints before, but I will change the shower head.
Kitchen - it has a gas stove and oven to allow you to cook and boil water during load shedding and power outages. The stove is only a couple of months old, so in very good condition. I am not sure why you couldn't switch the oven on. The kitchen also has a fridge/freezer, a microwave, electric kettle, toaster, and all the pots, pans, crockery and cutlery necessary for your stay. I wouldn't say that it is a basic kitchen. As for the mugs, they are glass mugs, the type that is used in restaurants for lattes, so I don't understand what is wrong with them. There are also tea cups if you prefer cups.
Smell in the rooms - I was there myself to open the house during the day, and then check in your friends around 8pm. I didn't notice any strange smell. But then it rained a lot during that weekend, so this could have been the cause.
Mulberry tree - yes the tree was bearing fruits at the time of your visit - you should have eaten some, they are very nice and sweet! This happens once a year and as the tree provides shade, it will stay right where it is.
As one can see, we have good reviews and previous guests love the location in town, close to everything, as well as the venue.
I would also be grateful if you could send us back the towel that you or your friends took with. To this date, 6th December, I still haven't received it.
Valerie
