Beautiful camping. Nestled under the trees, this campsite has everything that we needed. The onsite restaurant is convenient for our late arrival, and our tent was safe for the weekend when we went out to explore the area. A variety of birds visited the campsite.

We left after one night as I didn't have privacy to bath or shower. This must be advertised as a backpackers with the minimum. The family bathroom should have the windows completely covered, as privacy is a requirement.

Hello Juanita. I am sorry that you felt the privacy wasn't good enough. The bathroom does have blinds at the bottom of the windows that prevent people from seeing in which have been in place for many years. If not booked, other cottages are available that are completely private, but they cost more than the R695 - R765 that the family rooms are sold for as they have their own kitchens, etc. It was lovely to meet you all and I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

Not pleasant at all, thank goodness I did not book for the whole weekend. Terrible! The staff didn't know where the cottage was. The place was dusty and unkempt. The linen was not changed from the previous occupants. It was smelly, it felt dirty and clammy. Load shedding was a disaster, no fans, no backup lights. When complaining, I was given two tiny aluminium type candles, unable to shower or freshen up. No cutlery or crockery in the cabin. Strange items floating in the kettle. The bar area was also very dusty and untidy.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. The linen is always changed after every guest checks out, so I am unsure as to why you felt it wasn't. If you had let us know, we could have exchanged it for some different linen. There is a load-shedding globe in the cottage, but unfortunately, they need to be left on to charge beforehand, and do not last long if there is stage 6 load-shedding with no power for 4 hours. Sadly, when there is load-shedding, the water pumps do not work for showers etc., but the load-shedding schedule is listed on the board by reception - unless there are last-minute changes to the stage. The cottage you stayed in is the smallest one with no room for a private kitchenette, so it shares the kitchen facilities in the main house where there is cutlery, crockery, a stove, fridge-freezer, toaster etc., as stated online. I will remind housekeeping to clean out the kettle on a more regular basis. The on-site restaurant is open-air and staff sweep the floor every morning before opening. I am afraid there will regularly be leaves and debris around, especially when it is windy. All feedback is gratefully received, and housekeeping or maintenance are notified as required.
