Relaxing, beautiful river view. One of the best places we've been for a quick break. Close enough so it's not a mission but far enough so you'll feel like you're on holiday. Definitely heading back soon.

A gem in the middle of the rush of life which was needed! Rustic stay and a piece of heaven, which was so needed. The weekend was too short, so we will be back for longer! Thank you for your hospitality.

Tranquil, beautiful view and awesome host. Totally enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at Zeekoe Lodge with friends. It truly met our needs. It's tranquil, the view is amazing and the host is awesome and super helpful.

Pleasant stay, and not that far out of Pretoria. Getting there was a bit of a challenge, but our host came to guide us. The units are self-catering, so go prepared with food etc. as the shops are not close. The unit we stayed in was neat; the only problem I had was the ensuite shower did not have hot water. The road getting to the place is a bit rough; a low car will scrape. The river and surrounding setup is peaceful and relaxing. Fish were not biting but it was still an enjoyable stay. The WiFi was very sporadic, so that would need attending to. There are a lot of insects at night because of the river, so you have to keep the doors closed. I will stay there again.

Stunning view with flaws. Stunning view, but unfortunately most of the unit had leaks when it rained. Both beds were wet, bedding, towels, medication, and our electronics on charge were damaged due to this. The front sliding doors can't lock and are not sealed, so then hundreds of bugs enter even when closed.

Thank you for your comments, Dedre. We at Zeekoe Lodge value honest and helpful feedback such as yours as this helps us to rectify any possible future errors and improve on our offerings. Firstly, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience and discomfort caused. With regards to the points raised, we would like to provide the following feedback: 1. The sliding doors do lock. We failed to properly show you how to lock them during check-in. 2. Unfortunately, being situated next to the Vaal River and on a farm, bugs are abundant, especially during this time of the year. The recent heat and humid conditions have only made matters worse. 3. Various spotlights have been installed along the river banks to steer bugs away from the units. In future, more care will be taken to advise guests about the bugs and to only leave lights on and doors open when needed. Regarding the rain; on Sunday evening we had a good downpour. We examined the unit but couldn't find any leaks or water coming in. We haven't experienced issues in the past and believe that the past weekend's massive thunderstorm may have caused some shifting, potentially causing the water leaks. We have since attended to this issue, sealing the whole roof while trying to ascertain where the water was coming from. Once again, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience and discomfort caused during your stay with us.

Ansie-hul het ons baie welkom laat voel en verseker dat ons kuier spesiaal was. Dit was absoluut 'n belewenis. Die plek is pragtig en die laat aand kuier om die kampvuur met die prag van die Vaalrivier by jou voorstoep was hemels. Sal beslis weer daar gaan oorbly. Dankie Ansie, julle is puik.
