Charming rustic cottages in the Karoo. Quaint and rustic cottages on a classic Karoo working farm. Chante's braai pack and breakfast were both delicious. My family and I really enjoyed our stay.

A wonderful experience but needs aircon. We loved our short stay at Zeekoegat. The host was very helpful, the food was delicious, and the units are charming; however, the units need air-conditioning. We could not sleep because it was so hot. Sleeping well is a prerequisite for long travel, and unfortunately, the aircon situation means that we won't stay there again and we won't recommend it either.

To be fair, Jason, you did visit the Karoo during one of the hottest weeks ever! Even for us living here, it was out of the ordinary. When booking a farmstay, there will always be these realities: dirt roads, weak or no cellphone signals, critters and bugs, dodgy water pressure, and a reliance on natural elements such as wind to keep the windmills turning. In return, you will have an honest, unfiltered farm experience. Starry nights, quiet days, wide expanse, and horizons. Bear in mind that farms are completely self-reliant, and mod-cons like air conditioners often can't be accommodated by solar panels - even though I wish I could offer you that.

Sublime experience. What a dream find in the middle of the dry Northern Karoo. Chante greeted us like we were long-lost friends. Her attention to detail is unmatched, from the clean, tastefully decorated cottages to her food, which was sublime. Her help and advice with regard to my flat tyre was immensely appreciated. Chante took us to watch the sheep shearing. Well worth the trip on 30 km of dry, dusty roads to find this gem. Be prepared for the heat though - if you look past that, the experience is well worth it.

Teleurstellend. Ons het verby die klein goed, soos die groen slyk 'swembad', die vuil glase en die vensters wat nie kon oopmaak nie, die vuil aangebrande rooster en die afwesigheid van WiFi probeer kyk - maar toe ons vrot water in die ketel gekry het, was ons baie teleurgesteld. Sal nie aanbeveel nie.
