Zeekoegat Homestead is a spacious, charming historical stay with a welcoming farm.

Zeekoegat Homestead is one of the few places listed as a historic building where you can stay. It’s much larger than it appears in the pictures, tastefully decorated with quality furniture, and exudes a genuine farm atmosphere—perfect for unwinding. The hosts were warm and friendly, and we were welcomed with freshly baked bread. We will definitely return.

Warm country hospitality, lovely walks, and fabulous manor house to ourselves.

A wonderful family getaway in the heart of the company on a heritage farm in the foothills of the Langeberg. We had the run of the luxuriously renovated 1750s manor house with its huge kitchen, comfy lounge and en suite all to ourselves. Welcomed with a loaf of freshly baked bread by the farmer and friendly rescue family animals from the dogs and cats to Galileo the donkey to Bessie the sheep, Lulu the big black pig, goats, geese, ducks and chickens. Animal lovers and children will be in heaven. Great farm and mountain walks. A unique experience in the heart of the country. Highly recommended as a destination or gateway to the Garden Route. Hands-on hospitality from the host who live here.

An enriching and meaningful experience.

A visit to Zeekoegat is no ordinary "farm-stay" of which there are plenty around. The experience of staying in a beautifully restored and furished Cape Dutch manor house was unique, yet it had all the surroundings of an active farm with poultry galore, enormous pig, rabbits, etc. You could also be educated about conservation and ecological rehabilitation if you give the owner a chance!
