The Zwakala River Retreat is comfortable, staff friendly and it's lekker!

The Zwakala River Retreat is a comfortable, well-equipped off-the-grid cottage that makes you feel you are really in the forest. My family was in their element with a swim in the river and a hike in the forest. Saturday was a treat with some refreshments at the brewery after the long walk. It's lekker.

Peaceful retreat, cozy stay, excellent staff, perfect for family relaxation.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Zwakala River Retreat with my family, and it was an unforgettable experience. The serene natural setting, nestled by the river, provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. The accommodations were cosy and well-maintained, offering all the comforts of home while still allowing us to feel connected to nature. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We loved exploring the beautiful hiking trails and spending our evenings by the fire, under a sky full of stars. Zwakala River Retreat is a true gem for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and reconnect with loved ones. Highly recommended!

Brilliant!

Absolutely awesome! Staff were amazing! The cabin we stayed in was beautiful, and the spa was fantastic. Roads leading to the accommodation are tricky when raining, so check the weather before heading in.

Pure tranquillity and nature at its finest.

Zwakal means ‘come closer’, and we did come closer to your ever-beauty. The memories we created at the Zwakala River retreat will forever hold a special place. The tranquillity and natural surroundings we experienced were truly inspiring. Saying goodbye to such a remarkable place is always hard. We will return soon for more, so this will not be our last! We truly cherished every moment of our stay, and we are grateful for the experience we had! Thank you for your warm hospitality.
