Cornwall Hill College
Description
Cornwall Hill College is an independent co-ed school on a 25 hectare estate in Irene, Pretoria. The school caters for both day scholars and boarders from Grade 000 to Grade 12 and currently has 1700 students. Cornwall Hill College is one of the top equestrian schools in Gauteng.
HERITAGE
During the South African War, the Duke of Cornwall built a fort on the highest hill south of Pretoria. This became known as Cornwall Hill. In the mid-1990s, the hill was transformed into a housing estate known as Cornwall Hill Estate. Some of the land was donated for a new private school, Cornwall Hill College, which was opened in 1998 with 380 students from Grade 0 to Grade 9.
ACADEMICS
Cornwall Hill College prides itself on a 100% Matric pass rate since it opened – and is one of only a few schools in South Africa that is able to claim this. The school motto is Singuli Omnes which means “One and All”.
