CrocRiver Enviro Park
Description
The CrocRiver Enviro Park, previously known as the Crocodile River Snake and Reptile Park, is a fascinating family attraction situated in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. It is the largest facility of its kind in South Africa and offers visitors a unique and adventurous day out.
The park features a range of attractions including turtle ponds, crocodile ponds, a fish pond, water monitor lizard pond, desert house, tropical house, demonstration snake pit, an animal touch farm, and a reptile gallery. Visitors can enjoy viewing over 88 cages in the reptile gallery with both indigenous and exotic reptiles from all around the world. The tropical house is a unique attraction with a 9m high waterfall, an aquarium with dwarf crocodiles form Central Africa, and 2 snake pits. Live presentations and demonstrations are held in the demonstration pits at scheduled times.
The Crocodile Riverside Trail offers visitors a chance to explore the unspoilt vegetation of the Lowveld with many species of flora to be seen, as well as numerous birdlife. There are picnic spots and braai facilities available; and for those who didn’t bring lunch, there is a snack shop too.
Those with young kids will enjoy the animal touch farm which introduces children to farm animals. The area offers pony rides and a children’s play area with a jungle gym, jumping castle and picnic tables.
