D'Nyala Nature Reserve

Description

The D'Nyala Nature Reserve is an 8000 hectare reserve located 15km south east of Lephalale in the Limpopo province. As the name implies, the reserve is well stocked with Nyala antelope, as well as over 60 types of mammals such as giraffe, rhino, zebra, eland, hyena and leopard.

The reserve has 2 game viewing hides overlooking the savannah plains and riverbeds which are perfect for spotting animals, especially during the dry winter months. There are also plenty of impressive Nyala-berry and baobab trees in the reserve.

A modern conference centre is available in the reserve, available for up to 50 people. This centre is of historical significance, because it was here that the peace talks between Nobel Peace Prize winner, FW de Klerk, and Cyril Ramaphosa were held before the democratic transformation in South Africa.
