German Settlers Monument
Description
The German Settlers Monument is a memorial on the slopes of Signal Hill on the Esplanade of East London, Eastern Cape, that consists of a group of sculptured figures on a plinth, 5 large plaques on stepped walls against the hill, and garden. The large imposing granite sculpture depicts a family group (mother, father, and 2 children) that tell the story of the settlers - facing out to the ocean and the future.
