Hout Bay Beach is a stunning beach located in the prestigious suburb of Hout Bay in Cape Town, Western Cape. Surrounded by soft, powdery sand dunes, turquoise waters, and magnificent mountain ranges, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind why this beach is so popular among locals and holidaymakers in the Cape.
The beach stretches almost a kilometre in length from Chapman’s Peak towards the Hout Bay Harbour and varies between 200 – 400m in width, providing plenty of space for games like beach volleyball, cricket, touch rugby, or even flying kites.
The beach is a fantastic family beach and is popular among horse riders, dog walkers, and sea kayakers. The protected bay is almost always calm and offers safe swimming. Dolphins, whales and seals can be spotted in the bay. The beachfront offers numerous restaurants and shops, while the nearby harbour offers fresh seafood, tourist curios, and boat rides.
