Joubert-Tradauw Cellar
Description
Joubert-Tradauw is a small wine cellar outside of Barrydale, on the popular Wine Route 62 of the Klein Karoo. Route 62 is the longest wine route in the world and Joubert-Tradauw is one it’s true gems, with a first impression that is as appealing as their food and wine. And if you speak to any of the ladies in the neighbouring towns, they’ll tell you that the winemaker himself is an attractive drawcard too!
Whether you visit in summer, when the vines are heavy with round, juicy grapes, or when the autumn season paints the estate in a vivid palette of greens rusty oranges and reds, and purples as deep as their Syrah, Joubert-Tradauw is a warm and welcoming estate where you can enjoy wine tastings, a peek into the cellar, and a decadent lunch.
The “Proe van die Karoo” tapas offer an exquisite spread of fresh seasonal produce and baked breads that pair elegantly with your wine of choice. Tables are set laid out a carpet of pebbles and ancient oak leaves, with sunlight filtering gently through reed afdaks. It is a feast for the senses.
