Juma Masjid Mosque
Description
The Juma Masjid Mosque, also known as Grey Street Mosque, is the largest mosque in Africa, and can be found in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Visitors are only allowed into this place of worship at certain times of the day and a strict dress code is enforced. No shoes are allowed to be worn in the building.
The Juma Masjid has a unique design and is geometric in shape. Every Friday, Grey Street (now known as Dr. Yusuf Dadoo Street) buzzes with activity as thousands of Muslims go to the mosque to pray. The mosque can accommodate about 6,000 worshippers at one time.
