Phinda Private Game Reserve
Description
Phinda is a 170km² privately owned game reserve that is adjoined to the vast iSimangaliso Wetland Park in KwaZulu-Natal. Formed in 1991, the reserve means “return to the wild†which is apt due to the large array of game available, such as elephant, white rhino, zebra, lion, cheetah, nyala, kudu, and wildebeest. It offers many of the same environments as iSimangaliso Wetland Park, including sand forest, wetland, and bushveld. Game drive and walks led by the reserve's rangers are popular, as are sunset cruises down the Mzinene river, diving trips to the coast, and top class food served in Savannah grasslands.
