Walter Sisulu University
Description
Walter Sisulu University is a university of technology and science in Mthatha, Eastern Cape. It was established in 2005 after the merging of Border Technikon and the University of the Transkei. It is named after Walter Sisulu, who played an active role in the struggle against apartheid.
Walter Sisulu University is one of six comprehensive universities in South Africa. It is involved in community upliftment and development, providing tertiary education in the rural areas of the Eastern Cape.
