Harrie's Pancakes, Graskop
Description
Harrie's Pancakes is a famous pancake restaurant in the little town of Graskop, situated at the gateway to the renowned Panorama Route in Mpumalanga. While it may not look like much from the outside, the ever-busy interior should give you some sort of clue as to why this restaurant is so worth a stop. Inside, you'll find a modern interior which doubles as gallery space showcasing some exceptional South African art. There's even little cards on each table displaying the story of pancakes!
It's all evident in the name. Harrie's Pancakes has been serving both sweet and savoury pancakes for the past 18 years, and as they mostly serve pancakes, they've certainly perfected it. You can look forward to sweet pancakes like black cherries in liqueur, banana in caramel sauce, dark chocolate mousse, and milk tart custard, served with cream or ice cream. If you're looking for something a little more substantial, perhaps you'll prefer chicken and mushroom with cashew nuts, bobotie with chutney vinaigrette, or spinach, mushroom and cheese. There are a few other things on the menu, such as salads, croissants, and eggs Florentine, but you have to try the pancakes at least once! Oh, and even the dairy and gluten intolerant are catered for! It's a great choice for those looking to tap into the Wi-Fi during lunch.
