Herschel Girls’ School is an elite private Anglican school for girls situated in beautiful grounds in Claremont, Cape Town. The school caters for both day scholars and boarders with a pre-preparatory school, preparatory school, and a senior school that offer classes from pre-nursery all the way through to Grade 12. Herschel Girls' focuses on the spiritual, emotional, physical, and intellectual well-being of each student, ensuring each girl receives a well-rounded education.
HERITAGE
Founded in 1922, Herschel Girls’ School was established to provide private schooling for the girls living in the southern suburbs. It opened its doors with just 29 girls and 7 staff members.
ACADEMICS
Herschel is renowned for its excellent academic achievements. The school obtained a 100% Matric pass rate for 2014 and a 100% Bachelor’s pass. The school motto is Ad Dei Glorium which means “To the Glory of God”.
