St Mary's Diocesan School for Girls (the DSG or Saints) is a Christian private day and boarding school for girls in Kloof near Durban. On a 9 hectare property, the school teaches Grade R to Grade 12 and has 1120 students. Both day scholars and boarders are accommodated with a fantastic boarding house for 100 students in Grade 8 and above.

HERITAGE

Established as St Elizabeth’s School, St Mary's Diocesan School for Girls was founded in 1906 on Fields Hill by the Society of St John the Divine. The school relocated to its current location in Kloof in 1909 and was renamed in 1919 at the request of a benefactor. The school has an Anglican foundation.

The school motto is “Service before self. God before all.”

ACADEMICS

St Mary's is a Wi-Fi campus and its teachers use Apple TV's to teach. The school has a history of producing excellent academic results. The 2014 Matrics obtained the best Independent Examination Board (IEB) Matric results in 2014 as reported in the Mercury newspaper. The 2014 Matric results had a pass rate of 100% with a 100% Bachelor Degree pass.

SPORTS & CULTURE

The school is known for having the top hockey teams across the age-group. The most famous sports ground is called Founders Field with a water-bases AstroTurf for hockey.
