University Of Zululand
Description
The University of Zululand (Unizulu) is the only comprehensive university north of the Tugela River in KwaZulu-Natal. Established in 1960 as the University College of Zululand, it previously catered to the Zulu and Swazi people. Since 1970 when it was granted university status, it has attracted students from all over Africa. With the aim of eliminating inequity, it offers both career-focused programmes and traditional degree courses to equip graduates with excellent knowledge and skills for the workplace.
The University of Zululand has partnered with the University of Mississippi, Radford University, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and Chicago State University.
The main campus is located in Kwadlangezwa, 19km south of Empangeni. There is a satellite campus as well as a Science Centre in Richards Bay. Facilities at the university include auditoriums, halls, conference venues, lecture rooms, micro-laboratories, computer labs, sports facilities, library, campus television broadcasting station, student centre, male and female residences, and a health clinic.
