Quiet farm atmosphere with nice fireplace for the cold evenings makes it a nice getaway destination. Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. One immediately feels at home and safe with the open spaces and farm atmosphere. The ample wood for the braai and fireplace was very welcome, and even fire lighters were provided. A bottle of the farm's wine was complimentary and in the fridge. We can highly recommend Black Oystercatcher Cottages.

Peaceful and in nature, but in need of repairs. The view is beautiful from the balcony. There are braai facilities and an equipped kitchen. We stayed 4 days, I was able to cycle and walk in nature. We were just not satisfied with the cobwebs in the corners of the windows and under all the furniture and did some cleaning ourselves the first day. The electric frying pan had mold on it (from the moldy kitchen cupboard under the sink) so didn't use it and preferred to cook on the fire. Overall it was nice, but advise that they take better care of repair work and cleaning.

Reception was very poor. Very poor reception! Reception was very poor. Young man who helped us very unfit and showed no respect towards us as a customer. He spoke English and out of respect I answered him in English even though my first language is Afrikaans. He then replied, just speak Afrikaans because I see you can't speak English. I work every day with clients many of whom are English and although I am Afrikaans, my English is very good. He didn't even bother to introduce himself.

Nice and comfortable place to stay. Well equipped for self catering. Very nice and tidy inside, needs some attention outside.

Nice weekend break. Great stay in the Overberg. Very comfortably furnished with a beautiful view of the surroundings.

Blissful. Delicious wine, fantastic food, excellent service. We'll come again. It's a blissful destination we peace rules. We could rest and enjoy the Elim winelands. We'll come again.

Here you can relax with ease. My wife and I walked the Pilgrimage of Hope and slept at Black Oystercatcher Cottages on the 11th night of the walk. We were there a little before check-in time and the staff were welcoming by immediately offering us something ice cold as we had just walked from Elim. We were then able to check in earlier and enjoy the quiet and cool house with all the luxuries and more. Thank you very much for a great time with you!
