Bad experience. My worst experience. I telephoned the website to make sure it was a ground floor experience. I explained my brother had long covid and has considerable lung scar tissue so he cannot handle stairs. They assured me it was. It was ground floor all right. 24 stairs to the ground floor. It was more like a basement. The bottled water in the chalet was not sterile and a bit brown. No candles or matches in the chalet to address the first evening of loadshedding. No rechargeable lights in the place. The extractor fan in the bathrooms were not working. No windows in the bathrooms so you can imagine the prolonged smell. The beds and sofa's have known better days. I did call Van Heerden letting the first evening we arrived there. Spoke to Thinus. He was no help at all. I never called again. 9 days of navigating those stairs was no fun. The pictures were not a true reflection of the location.

Thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear that your experience was not as good as it should have been. If you had informed us that the apartment was not suitable because of the stairs we would have moved you to a more suitable unit. Likewise with the extractor fan, if you reported to us that it was not working we would have had it fixed. There was country-wide load shedding at the time. Most people are prepared for this. Please note that we do not have a Thinus working for us. At Van Heerden Letting we normally go out of our way to make sure our guests are comfortable and have a great stay. If you had communicated with us at the time I'm sure you would have had a good holiday. In future please advise us of any problems on the first day and we will get them sorted out.
