Karoo Rustigheid Guest Farm is a solar-powered self-catering house situated in the Roggeveld region, approximately 47 km from Sutherland. The route to the farm consists of approximately 24 km of tar road and 24 km of gravel road, offering a scenic journey into the tranquil Karoo landscape. This off-the-grid retreat provides a peaceful escape, ideal for guests seeking space, quiet, and natural surroundings.
The spacious house can accommodate 6 adults and 4 children, comprising 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, along with a kitchen, dining area, and living space. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed and a single bed, while the second bedroom also contains a double bed and a single bed. The third bedroom is furnished with a double bed and 2 single beds. The first bathroom is fitted with a shower and toilet, the second bathroom has a bath with a shower-over-bath, and the third bathroom is fitted with a shower.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and oven, fridge, microwave, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Hot water is supplied via a solar geyser and a gas geyser. As the property operates بالكامل on a solar, off-the-grid system, electricity usage is required to be kept to a minimum. Linen and bedding are provided, and fireplaces are available to ensure warmth during cooler months.
The living area features a dining table, a TV with full DStv channels, free Wi-Fi, an indoor braai (barbecue) area, and a fireplace, creating a comfortable indoor space for relaxation. Guests can experience the changing beauty of the Karoo, with the possibility of snowfall in winter and seasonal flowers and bulbs in spring.
