Disappointing management, in many respects. Otherwise nice house, a good location.

It is a lovely house, in a great location. But sadly, the management of the house is very disappointing. A week after booking and paying in full, we were told to pay an extra R750 cleaning fee, payable not to you, but to a third party. This is questionable business practice. Despite being given prior written permission to check in at 12 noon, we were told shortly before arrival that we could only check in at 1 pm. We received a pin for the house location, and then later, a different pin (which turned out to be incorrect). The agent was unreachable, which was problematic. Adding to the confusion, the house is named “Beach House”, not “Sanborg Home”. The key was not left in the agreed place, and there was no cell phone signal in the valley. This all meant that we were late for our race registration and start. In many respects, this ‘premium’ house lacked things one would expect for a premium price, eg: no Wi-Fi (even though there is a Wi-Fi signal, If we had known there was no Wi-Fi, we would not have booked this house), no bin bags, no dishwashing soap or dishwasher tablets ("we do not supply these types of things" according to Chantal), one ply toilet paper and only one roll per toilet. This was not made clear when we booked, so we had not brought these essential items with us. The bed in one bedroom had previously broken, and was badly repaired, so had to be propped up by a bedside table to prevent collapse. Altogether, we have been quite disappointed and would advise potential customers to avoid this house.
