Description
Stilbaai Beach Cottage is a charming self-catering home located along the beach of Still Bay East, a southern coastal town, known for its sunny weather, Blue Flag beaches, scenic beauty, and outstanding amenities.
This area attracts families, retirees, remote workers, and holidaymakers, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The beach cottage is typical for its time, dating back to the 80s when life was simple and slow, where you can enjoy the beach with beautiful surrounds.
For the more active families there is swimming, beach tennis, boogie boarding, hiking to Geelkrans or Rooikrans early mornings, fishing from the harbour wall or on the rocks at Skulpiesbaai, paddle or waterski, swimming in the river, sailing (hobbycat or windsurfing was our favourite activity then.) and a popular activity, still practised today, is getting something that can float, head out to the river to float from the bridge down to the river mouth when the tides are come in and out.
For those who like to relax, lots of reading time, slow morning or evening walks, board games, more reading and perhaps an afternoon snooze.
You have direct beach access, about 50m to the beach. A quick walk from the back door on the wooden walkway over the dune.
The cottage has a lot of character and charm and distant sea views from the front balcony and living spaces. We recently renovated the interior and installed new flooring, extended the front balcony, opened up living spaces and added a new shower downstairs. We also installed fast fibre and added a smart TV.
The cottage sleeps 6 adults and maximum 4 children comfortably, comprising 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and outside shower.
The main bedroom upstairs is furnished with a queen bed and en-suite bathroom fitted with shower and toilet, and walk out balcony facing the hillside. A two bed-size child annex leads out from the main bedroom.
Downstairs are two double and one single bedroom with shared bathroom fitted with shower, bath, and toilet.
All linen is provided.
The upstairs living area features a kitchen fully equipped with a gas stove, stovetop kettle, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, cutlery, and crockery, as well as a central breakfast table. The open-plan lounge and dining area offer ample seating for guests to dine and relax. There is also a cozy TV area with a selection of channels.
Additionally, the property features an outdoor Lapa hut with a braai area, dining table, and ample stools, perfect for get-togethers around the fire. Guests have the option to explore the beaches which is within walking distance to the property and all the various attractions the area has to offer.
