Description

This Annex features 2 lovely en-suite rooms, each furnished with king-size beds, or single beds upon request. The bathrooms are equipped with extra-large showers, and shower chairs are available upon request for added comfort. The rooms are well-appointed with blinds, block-out curtains, ceiling or wall fans, mosquito repellents, and beverage stations. Guests can enjoy spectacular views of the garden and Albert Falls Dam below. Adjacent to Room 2 is a lounge area, accessible from the veranda or via a Jack & Jill bathroom. The 2 double couches in this space are ideal for small children, making the Garden Cottage perfect for families. It is also a great room to work, play, and relax, offering a radio, board and card games, and reading material for all ages. The beverage station includes a coffee percolator and a mini fridge. The covered veranda provides a comfortable retreat from both the sun and rain, allowing guests to fully enjoy the view. This area is also enclosed for added safety, making it perfect for families with young children and ideal for those who prefer a dog-free environment.

Rate displayed is on an accommodation-only / self catering basis with access to a shared kitchenette.

House Rules

No one under 16 is allowed to play snooker.

No smoking, drinking, or eating around or on the snooker table is permitted.

Children or anyone unable to swim may only use the swimming pool under strict supervision.

Please do not harm, approach, or feed the animals.

Guests may invite day visitors to join them on-site from 9 am, but visitors must leave by 6 pm.

A reasonable noise level must be maintained and must not disturb the neighbors at any time. No music or excessive noise is allowed after midnight.

Self-catering rooms will only be serviced from Monday to Friday.

The geysers operate on gas; water is pumped from a Jojo water reservoir via a pressure pump through the gas geyser, and this all requires power. As we are completely off-grid, we ask our guests to be mindful of leaving lights on unnecessarily. If the batteries run too low, the pressure pump will not work, and the water will not run.

Guests are requested not to tamper with the pressure pump or gas geysers. The owner must be contacted if there are any issues.

Guests are asked to use water sparingly, as running the Jojo dry may result in damage to the pressure pump. If you are concerned that the Jojo is running lower than half, please contact the owner.

No smoking is allowed in the rooms.

If anything is broken or damaged by a guest or their visitors, accidentally or otherwise, guests are asked to be courteous and report it. Major damage or breakages may result in the replacement value being charged to the guest's account.

Unauthorized additional guests will be required to pay the full rate per night plus an additional penalty.

Any item left unattended, within reach, or lying on the ground may be destroyed by our dogs. Looking after every item is the guest's responsibility, and the owner does not accept responsibility for any damage that may be caused.

Under absolutely no circumstances may a guest feed anything to our dogs. Should this occur and result in veterinary treatment being necessary, the full cost of such treatment will be claimed from the guest. We love our dogs, and our one cat, and they must be respected.

Music must be played at an acceptable volume and switched off by midnight. Should there be more than one group of guests staying at The View, we expect all our guests to behave and interact in a friendly and respectful manner. Failure to do so may result in further action being taken.

Boat and car parking are available.

Direct private gate access to Albert Falls Dam.

The property operates off-grid, utilizing solar power, gas, and borehole water.

Only pre-approved electrical appliances are allowed.

Regrettably, no guest pets are allowed.

Outdoor smoking is permitted.

Absolutely no fireworks allowed
