Description
Vryheid Farm House is a self-catering retreat situated on a private, enclosed farm on the border of the Alexandria and Paterson districts, neighbouring Amakhala Game Reserve.
The house accommodates up to 6 adults and 4 children and features 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, along with a separate guest toilet. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and includes an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and basin. The second and third bedrooms each have a queen-size bed, while the fourth bedroom contains 2 bunk beds suitable for 4 children. The second bathroom is fitted with a shower, bath, toilet, and basin.
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery, and crockery. The open-plan living and dining area features a cosy fireplace. Large stacker doors open onto a boma area on one side and a verandah with entertainment spaces and a built-in braai on the other.
Guests can explore the game section of the farm, which includes a 2 km hiking trail and various paths for walking or mountain biking. Vryheid Farm is home to diverse wildlife, and self-drive game and bird-viewing experiences are allowed on designated roads (4x4 vehicles are recommended for sandy or steep areas).
As a working farm, Vryheid Farm House operates a rotational grazing system with Nguni and Beefmaster cattle. Guests are welcome to learn about farming activities from the farm manager or request a short drive to observe the cattle.
