"Bettys Bay is a lovely vacation destination. The Harold Porter botanic garden is our favourite garden in South Africa, it has unspoiled fynbos and lovely walks. The area has a number of nice long mountain walks and shorter beach walks. The penguins are always fun to visit. These days there are some places to eat when one is not wanting to braai/cook."

"It's a great town. Heritage preserved. Beautifully located with rivers. We enjoyed the river walks and boat rides. Town folk friendly. Great restaurants, a gin distillery, excellent wine region. There were 2 markets the Friday and Saturday we were there. The Friday night market was visited not just by tourists but also by the locals. It made for a nice community feel."
