Uitstekend. Baie lekker oorgeslaap na 'n vermoeiende dag op die pad. Alles was puik. Julle plek is voorwaar 'n juweel. Sal weer daar oorslaap. Baie dankie.

Beautiful location, average stay. We stayed overnight on the way back from George to Johannesburg, and Bloemfontein is always a great place to stop. We did notice that many of the rooms were used as storage or similar, which made the place feel unused, and the gardens are so beautiful that it was surprising to see the rooms in that state. There was a cockroach in our room, only one that we saw, and we quickly killed it - there were also a lot of mosquitoes and larvae in the pool and ponds which made it a little unpleasant. Even if your guests are not staying for a longer term, it would be great to have advance notice that certain features are not working - we were given a much smaller room than the one we booked because the air conditioning in the original room was not working, and the new room did not have the spa bath in it. The beds in the room were also very uncomfortable - instead of a double/queen bed, they were two single beds pushed together with a mattress topper and they were not the same height, which made it very uncomfortable. It was a pleasant surprise to have a visit from three of the dogs; we are both big animal lovers. Lastly, the main gate was not working and could be opened manually by sliding it open - this is not extremely safe, no matter if the area is known for safety. Thank you to Gladys for meeting us and showing us the room, and helping us with the air con.

Hi Andy / Anneke My name is Du Preez Stoltz, owner of Toscana Estate. I am so sorry that I was not at the establishment during the time you were there. We were on a 7-day break away, and you know how it is; ironically, things go wrong when you are not there. Thank you so much for taking my call and giving me the opportunity to apologise. Please note that I take the reviews to heart and will do my utmost best to improve. The rooms that you thought were used for storage are actually two new rooms that will be finished by March 2025, and we are so excited and grateful to be able to expand. We had a power outage; that is why the main gate was on manual mode. I will definitely explain to Gladys that she must communicate properly in any similar situation. She is actually a lovely person and is still learning a lot. We moved you to another room because the aircon in the room you initially booked broke due to the power outage. That is why you did not see the bath, and again, I am so sorry about that. We knew it was very hot in Bloem at that time; that is why we hoped that moving you to a room with a working aircon would favour you. Since then, we have replaced the broken aircon. I am so sorry about the swimming pool and ponds; George was on leave for 10 days. I will make sure that we get other workers in future to stand in. The garden etc. at Toscana is my pride and joy. Many guests ask for the option to have single beds instead of a king-size bed. That is why we use two single beds with a king-size padded mattress cover. Our beds are of the highest quality, but I will investigate why the two beds were not the same height. I think the main lesson I will take away from this is that until we have a seasoned manager with more experience, we should not keep the establishment open during the time that we are on holiday. We are a young business with much to learn. As a token of my apology to you, I would like to offer you a 50% discount next time you need accommodation in Bloemfontein. Wishing you a blessed 2025. Too short, lovely comfortable stay, beautiful estate. Only spent one night as a stopover. Very comfortable rooms, clean and in close proximity to Bossa, a great option for families with small kids. The host was very helpful and contacted us prior to our arrival to ensure we had everything we needed.
