This guest was highly upset by the change of dates incident on her booking, which was caused jointly by the booking platform and me, not confirming that the booking platform had changed the dates on her booking in the calendar, which they had not. As a result and from the beginning she was hostile and aggressive. She behaved badly, being abusive and aggressive to me, my neighbour who tried to help, and the co-host of this property during her stay. I believe this review is a malicious and personal attack on me, and aimed to cause damage to the reputation and well-being of the business and has nothing to do with the property. I have been hosting at this property for two and a half years and hosted one hundred and eight guests. I currently have a 4.9-star ad 9.7-star ranking on other platforms. You can see the reviews on this site also are exemplary.
In preparing for guests, we have the same staff and use the same check-in and check-out protocol for all guests. Cleaning materials, linen, towels, hand towels, toilet paper and paper towels are all provided. Two toilet rolls per bathroom and sunlight liquid, Handy Andy and 1 dishwashing tablet per day are provided, with two black bags. The Verimark broom and mop plus bucket are always in the cupboard. We provide enough of the essentials for the period of your stay.
Yes, the guest contacted me the day before check out insisting on me resupplying the house with all cleaning materials. Her statement was “she wasn’t prepared to spend any money on these items as at the exorbitant price this should be included”. This made no sense and I at the time suggested that if she wanted the house serviced, I would get someone at a fee of R350 for the day.
Indeed, the gas did run out after 22:00 one evening and I suggested that I come first thing in the morning to replace it. When she stated she was needing to cook at 22:20 in the evening, I went over and replaced it with my neighbour within 15 minutes, and exchanged it within 15 minutes, I would like any guest reading this review to look at all the other reviews to realise that this one is unlike all the other impeccable reviews I have received before and after this guest. In fact, the guests after her have booked again for December this year. The guest further refused to communicate with me regarding check out and finally vacated the premises at 12:22 knowing another guest was checking in at 15:00 and knowing that they should have vacated at 10:00. I was ignored totally. Her behaviour at check out was extremely rude and obnoxious towards my neighbour. I believe her statements are false, defamatory, and libellous and totally devoid of truth.
