Boat Trips on the Blyde Dam

Enjoy the splendour of the third largest Canyon in the world by doing a 1 ½ hour boat trip with Blyde Canyon Adventures on the Blye Dam, along the Panorama Route in Mpumalanga. It is unquestionably the largest 'green canyon' in the world due to its lush subtropical foliage, and this interpretation guided tour will take you to the rare living Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels. The Blyde River canyon supports large diversity of life, including numerous fish, primate, bird, and antelope species as well as hippo and crocodile. Possibly the best view in the whole of the Blyde River Canyon is of the "Three Rondavels", huge, round rocks, thought to be reminiscent of the huts of the indigenous people.
The Canyon is famous for the Kadishi Tufa waterfall. At 200m, it is the second tallest tufa waterfall on earth. In the case of the Kadishi Tufa fall, the formation that has been produced strikingly resembles a face which is crying, and is therefore sometimes known as 'the weeping face of nature.
