Doris Goodwin Hospital, a public hospital operated by the KwaZulu Natal Health Department, is situated in Botha’s Hill, KwaZulu Natal. It is a specialized MDR-TB hospital with 100 beds. The hospital was previously run by an NGO Santa for TB management, then taken over by Government and later became an institution specializing in MDR-TB management.
GETTING THERE
The hospital is situated in Plessislaer, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal. The nearest main road is the M70 to the North of the hospital. The hospital is situated behind Edendale Mall. Plessislaer is located in the South-Western part of Pietermaritzburg.
PAYMENTS
Doris Goodwin hospital is a provincial hospital, therefore services are free to pregnant and breastfeeding women as well as children under the age of six years old. Other citizens are charged according to a sliding scale depending on their income.
