Voelklip Beach
Description
Voelklip Beach is a relatively small beach in the coastal town of Hermanus, Western Cape.
Its size is largely determined by the tides, as at low tide, you can walk around the rocks to the neighbouring Kammabaai Beach, while at high tide, most of the sandy beach stretch lies underwater.
The beach is ideal for surfing, swimming, body boarding, and whale watching in season. It is sheltered from the wind and offers lovely grass terraces which are perfect for those hoping to tan or picnic.
Facilities include limited parking, toilets, benches, shops, and refreshments in the holidays. Lifeguards are on duty during the peak season.
