Blue Wilderness Dive Expeditions
Description
Renowned for having pioneered many of southern Africa's most exciting and challenging shark and marine predator adventure encounters, including the Sardine Run and the baited tiger shark dive, Blue Wilderness relishes any chance it gets to share the ocean’s treasures with the world. Their hope is that by introducing people to these amazing creatures without the confines of a cage, their perspective about sharks might be changed forever. They believe that one of the best ways to convince people that sharks are worth protecting, is by facilitating face to face encounters that shows the diver what exactly it is that needs to be conserved for future generations.
This 2.5 hour expedition launches daily from Rocky Bay, following a safety briefing by an experienced marine biologist guide. Once at the breathtaking Aliwal Shoal, everyone gets in the water for one hour in the water with the sharks. The gentle Blacktip shark is encountered on every expedition, but there is always the possibility of seeing Tiger sharks, dusky sharks, ragged tooth sharks, dolphins, whales, turtles, gannets and many other marine species. The expedition is concluded with lunch at the Blue Wilderness Dive Centre.
