Dear Valentiah. I do not normally respond to people' s review unless I find it a bit harsh and unfair and I am glad that the booking platform does offer a way to respond. How do I respond to your bad review? I will start to say that it is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay and I know that your review mostly is due to the fact that you did not plan well. Being a place suitable for a two night stay only is not what others think. In the past there were bookings from a few weeks to a few months to even a year booking. Selfcatering does however mean that you do supply your own coffee, tea, sugar, toiletries enc. , but as a courtesy some are provided. People sometimes make the mistake to evaluate a place on cleanliness on how the place was left when they departed and not how they had received the place. Being the case a 1 would be appropriate, but do note that your received it as a 5. Since a small once off cleaning fee are added for cleaning when people depart I do not judge people if they do leave the place as a 1, but being oldschool I always leave a place as I had received it. Hotelservices are unfortunately not provided, but again it was never included in the price. I know you expected a place walking distance from the beach since you and your friends did not have or planned on any transport, but that was not what Serendipity selfcatering ever claimed to be. It would be best for any future holiday planning to search for a location that suits your expectations before booking and be disappointed. Despatch is a small to medium size town situated between Uitenhage and Port Elizabeth with about 25min drive to the nearest beach. It is perfect for family visiting, traveling business people staying in a safe and quiet area and even people willing to drive to the beaches and any other tourist destinations like many overseas guests that I had accomodated in the past. People traveling for weddings, funerals, birthdays and functions had find the place a lovely stay with a great value for money.
